Cromer

Cromer is a charming small seaside town. The architecture is faded Victorian splendour and the town is situated on the North Norfolk coast a 2½ to 3 hour journey from London.

In its Victorian heyday Cromer was a fashionable seaside destination of the litterati who affectionatily named the stretch of coast line between Cromer and Overstrand Poppy Land.

Nowadays, this small unspoilt seaside town is known as the gem of the North Norfolk Coast with its wonderful award winning sandy beaches that stretch for miles on either side of the town.

Cromer is well known amongst many things for its cliff top walks, the lighthouse, and the Royal Cromer golf course (non-members welcome).

The ancient and enormous church of St Peter and St Pauls in the main high street dominate the town and it has the highest church tower in Norfolk. Cromer is full of interesting architecture including the wonderful Hotel de Paris facing the Pier.

As most people are aware Cromer is world famous for its crabs and has a thriving fishing community (and one of the best fishmongers on the North Norfolk coast)!

Cromer Pier hosts one of the last pier shows in the country during the summer months plus many other events.

The view of the Pier and the houses around the crescent from Cromer East beach is one of the most painted and photographed views in Norfolk. Crab fishing off the end of the pier is a must for children (and enthusiastic dads).
